| Imola 185cc Tuning Kit & Options | |||
One of the most up to date tuning kits available to fit 125, 150 and 175cc Lambretta engine casings. In our opinion the best classic tuning kit on the market. Imola was developed along with our good friend Tino Sacchi from Milan. We built and tested the first Imola 185cc kit in Great Britain in 2001. Various piston types and exhaust/carburetter set ups were tried . After six months and 4000 miles of road testing were completed we were happy to retail the kit to the public. The system comprises an aluminium barrel which is Nicasil lined. Fuel induction is by reed valve with manifold exiting on the opposite side to normal carburetter position. Piston is the latest low expansion alloy type (very strong) Any 125/150/175 cylinder head can be machined and profiled to suit new capacity barrel. |

| Through our thorough road testing we have found that a good
compromise between power, reliability and fuel consumption can be found
using the following Imola set up.

Imola (recommended touring
option) Imola 185cc barrel (Nicasil lined) - £189 Low Expansion Piston - £49.99 Italian, Spanish or Indian machined cylinder head - £37.50 (new) Scorpion/N.K expansion chamber - £219/£169 28mm PHBH Del Orto carburetter - £69.99 12 volt electronic ignition system - £119

Imola 185cc systems should only
be fitted to sound engines with a minimum of G.P crank shaft and high load
F.A.G bearings. The clutch unit should also be beefed up using a clutch
centre spring to eliminate slip. Ideally the engine should be fitted with
new bearings and seals throughout unless this work has recently been carried
out. The engine should be geared correctly to allow full use of power available. This can usually be done using a new top drive sprocket keeping costs down.
Fuel consumption Our recommended Imola touring set up will give overall fuel consumption of 52mpg if set up correctly. Unleaded fuel should be used and fully synthetic oil used at all times.
Engine Life If serviced at regular intervals your Imola engine should give trouble free use for up to 8000 miles. Reed petals will usually need replacing at 3000 to 4000 mile intervals. Small end bearings should also be replaced at similar distances.
